This was a cover pitch gone wrong. Real quick without mentioning names: A local Seattle indie mag wanted to use some of the art from a self promo I made. They contacted me the day before it went to press because they lost the reproductions and wanted me to send them the original files. However, since they didn't ask for prior consent I dragged my feet and sent them the files late. Later, when I went to confront them, they told me I could do the cover for the fall issue. Again, without mentioning names, I came up with an overall concept involving the name of the magazine and fall. When I sent the comp to the art director, they didn't know I was coming, and the next issue wasn't coming out in the fall, but the spring. I guess I got played, and then the cover took a dark turn into wasted art.
